MARCH 25, 2003
BUDGET COMMITTEE MINUTES
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL: The meeting was called to
order at 2:10 p.m. Agency members Welch, Abbott, Woodruff, Peterson, Beckstead
and Church, Laypersons Canfield, Tryon and Rivers answered the roll. Member Eder
and Laypersons Gordon, Hamilton and Campbell were absent. A quorum was present.
2. SELECTION OF CHAIR: Ms. Woodruff moved to nominate Mr. Welch, Mr.
Beckstead seconded. There were no other nominations, and the motion then carried
unanimously on a voice vote.
3. PUBLIC HEARING: Chair Welch opened the Public Hearing on the Urban Renewal
Agency Budget for Fiscal Year 2003-2004. There were no comments. At 2:12 p.m.
the meeting was recessed to a time later in the afternoon.
The meeting was reconvened at 4:20 p.m.
A brief discussion ensued regarding debt service and the construction funds. No
changes were made to the budget document.
Chair Welch closed the public hearing.
Ms. Woodruff moved to accept the proposed budget and recommend its
adoption to the Waldport Urban Renewal Agency. Mr. Beckstead seconded,
and the motion carried unanimously on a voice vote. Mr. Abbott moved
that the Waldport Urban Renewal Budget Committee approve taxes for the 2003-2004
fiscal year at the 100% amount from Division of Taxes and no special levy amount
within the Urban Renewal authority. Ms. Woodruff seconded, and the motion
carried unanimously on a voice vote.
4. ADJOURNMENT: At 4:32 p.m., there being no further business to come before the
Urban Renewal Agency Budget Committee, Ms. Tryon moved to adjourn. Mr.
Beckstead seconded, and the motion carried unanimously on a voice
vote.
